The Spring Festival is approaching, and recently, CCTV published a monkey mascot for the 2016 Gala, it was a cute little monkey named Kang Kang.
Kang Kang has a pair of round eyes, bulging cheeks, looking smart and lively. Yellow, green and red are painted on the face so that chinoiserie is fully shown, and the whole face is like a Chinese traditional ink and wash painting.
‘Kang Kang’ means 'healthy' in Chinese. There are also netizens calling this monkey ‘hou sai lei’ as a nickname, which sounds very similar to ‘hao li hai’ (means awesome) in Cantonese. And it happens to have a ‘hou’ in this nickname, making it gain popularity as well.
But the official 3D version of Kang Kang did not gain everyone's interest, a lot people ridiculed it for its unpleasant look.
Netizens even feel hard to not say something, let's check out their masterpieces.
